Strengths: big fan, blue light, Adequate power use.
Weakness: none
I had a hard time finding the correct PSU. Some were too expensive others efficiency was low or their cost was outrageous. Finally I found this PSU on rebate sale, I hope I get the the rebate. Tom’s hardware said they were good so therefore I bought it. So far no problems, running SLI and its running great. Good thing I read aceskull’s review and actually Tom’s hardware mentioned it too,...
Strengths: Ample power on the +12v rails, appealing design, efficiency, real-time power meter.
Weakness: The first one arrived DOA (with power-up and power-down problems); the RMA replacement unit seems to be working OK so far...
Well, I've heard a lot of good things about this power supply, and was looking to upgrade an SLI motherboard to actually use SLI mode. (From a single-rail TTGI Super Flower). My initial experience was with a DOA supply... When I first installed the PSU and flipped its on/off switch, power flowed through the motherboard for a fraction of a second (WITHOUT turning the computer power on!). Then then...
Strengths: Very quiet, plenty of power
Weakness: blue fan, expensive.
I bought this for around $120 it was a bit expensive comparing to other power supplys on the market but this has shown quality throught, its well conmstructed nicely powder coatedtoo. The biggest downfall to some would be that it runs on a blue lit fan, so if you dont want blue in your machine you gotta go through the hassle of changing it out. This is a very quiet fan on the power supply too!
Strengths: POWER 550w! 650 at max.
Weakness: no rear fan, one sli cable.
I have had no problems with this PSU, I love the blue light, the 120mm fan is nice and fast. Its not noisy either. Been running it for 15 days straight with occasional restarts cuz of windows or software installation, but this PSU hasn’t let me down at all. For power to the video card it only comes with one 6pin connector the black one. You will have to use the converter for SLI as EVGA...
Strengths: High power/price ratio. Active PFC. Quiet large fan. Power efficient.
Weakness: No modular cables.
My computer is not really power hungry, so I can't comment on how many components this PSU can support. But I do like it for its power efficiency. It is a 80plus rated power supply meaning efficiency is above 80%, so you save on electricity, and there is less heat waste, hence a cooler system. The fan is also large and quiet. The active PFC should give your system voltages extra stability. It is...
Strengths: no problems so far
Weakness: the blue light
I'm using this to power an intel d975x mobo, intel conroe e6400 CPU, zalman heatsink, dvd-rw, cd-rw, WD raptor harddrive, WD Caviar, sapphire x1900xt vid card, and a few fans without any problem for 25 days now.
Coolermaster has boosted efficiency significantly. Both under full and under half load the device works with a level of efficiency of over 79%, placing it at the top of the test field in terms of efficiency. Even an efficiency of 75% under a low load is quite respectable. In standby mode, the device is on a par with its predecessor, with just under 4 Watt being drawn from the mains at a low load...

There is much to like about the Real Power 550. Cooler Master's decision to rate it according to its continuous output spec is commendable. The added support for EPS12V also speaks well of the design, as it has more stringent requirements than ATX12V spec. The three +12V rails should make for an exceptionally stable power supply. However, Cooler Master has not paid enough attention to acoustics...

DOA so stay away!
Strengths: n/a - I never got a working one.
Weakness: Doesn't work, kind of a problem, right?
I'm never buying CoolerMaster again. I got THREE DOAs in a row, can you believe that? I spent almost as much in posting the returns as the item cost. More precisely I got two DOAs - the second one the vendor sent on to CoolerMaster who promptly sent it back to me STILL DEAD!! Stay away from this crowd, probably made with child labor.
