Weakness: No multimedia (video) applications, and obtaining DVD programs requires going to a different website. Documentation is skimpy.

This is a very stable distro, with an attractive gui (bluecurve). The documentation hardcopy is skimpy, but most questions can be answered on the website. The RPM installation is a breeze, except when there are dependencies that require installing. Then it is frustrating getting all of the downloads. The RPM installation is a breeze, except when there are dependencies that require installing. Then it is frustrating getting all of the downloads. No computer programming is necessary to enjoy this OS, though even a small amount of know-how will greatly enhance enjoyment. I tried SuSE 8.1 Pro and Redhat 8.0 Personal and I prefer the Redhat distro. Installation was a breeze on both a desktop and an old laptop. It just needs to have a more coherent installation for third party software, especially if not in RPM form. The software complement is extensive and I installed everything and I am still discovering things.
