Strengths: superb sound quality, the sound is very gentle and not fatiguing, the unit looks very robust, and all parts can be replaced for longer endurance
Weakness: a little tight for most people, needs some time to burn-in, really requires a good headphone amp
I got my HD580 for a while now. I love it simply because it really offers elegant sound at a reasonable cost. My final price was $150. Meanwhile, HD600 would cost you more than $200, and HD650 more than $300. And I'd like to say they improve at most 5% in terms of sound quality. So you know what to begin with. Anyway these cans need headphone amps deadly. So you need to spend another $200 to get...

These are some of the best...
Strengths: very well detailed, not too bright like the hd590, little sound difference from the hd600's
Weakness: need a headphone amp
These are some of the best headphones available in the $150 price range. They are quite detailed in all aspects. The only downside is you will need a separate headphone amp to get the most out of them since they are very hard to drive and will sound like crap on a portable mp3/cd player. If you plan using headphones with a portable player I would reccomend the better suited hd590's. The hd580s...

Best head phone I've used
Strengths: Great sound, good price
Weakness: None
I've used more than 10 headphones so far, including a few from sennheiser, HD280,HD497, this is by far the best when it is properly powered. I used to believe to reproduce the musice, the louderspeakers are the only choice. However after I compared these with my over $1000 speakers, I discovered I can hear more details with these $150 headphones! Now I really enjoyed these. I'm not sure how it...

Superb Headphones
Strengths: Amazing clarity, resolution, and fidelity. Brings new definition and enjoyment to your music.
Weakness: 300 ohm impedance requires amplifier. They're not the HD650s. Open air design (no isolation).
These headphones are truly in a class of their own. They are easily the best I have ever listened to. Though they aren't perfect, these headphones lead the pack at the price I paid ($125), and are certainly worth much more than that. These 'phones will open new doors in musical enjoyment, but be warned: they will also reveal the faults of low quality recordings and highly compressed MP3s. All in...

Best Purchase I Ever Made for PC Gaming
Strengths: Excellent sound quality for a decent price. Lateral sound quality to the HD600s and HD650s. I can hear every step an enemy makes in game.
Weakness: No microphone. But then again there are no high quality headphones with microphones. So I guess that is irrelevant. I honestly can't find anything wrong with them.
Excellent for modding. I was able to tear the microphone out of a Logitech Internet Chat Headset and with a Dremmel and hot glue fit the microphone inside the left can. It is slick. And I no longer have to use a desk microphone or wear two headsets to have high quality sound.
