Strengths: Great low cost, Cheapest FX5900 there is! Excellent design. Excellent driver. Excells at over-clocking. Did I say price?!!!
Weakness: Manufacturer documentation, hard copy and web. Lack of detailed specs. Still slower than 9800 Pro.
I've been an nVidia user for a long time ever since the TNT days. I've been mulling over an upgrade from a TI4400 to a newer card. After some research I chose this FX5900 from XFX. The price is the bar far the best there is for a DX9 generation card. The FX5900's GPU runs at 400Mhz and the memory run at 800Mhz. Versus the FX5900 Ultra that run at 450/850. But you can easily over-clock this card...

Strengths: Excellent performance at a somewhat reasonable cost, easy installation, uses standard NVIDIA drivers, supports 3D shutter glasses.
Weakness: No longer top of the heap in performance, no video capture.
This is a great price to performance card for those who need some real video processing power. The performance charts show a significant advantage of the original 5900 over the 5700 chipset, yet the price difference can be pretty small depending on the deals you find. Of course, I can't validate the performance comparison as I'm sure my results would have felt about the same had I gone with the...
