Strengths: high quality at a very good price after rebate, well known company
Weakness: none for me
This memory was very easy to install in my Toshiba notebook computer. It took about ten minutes including looking up which screws to loosen. What a difference moving up to 2GB Ram for Vista. I trust the Crucial name and have no doubt they will be around if I ever need warranty replacement. I tested it with Memtest86+ and got no errors so I'd say you can't go wrong if this is the type of memory...
Strengths: Reliable, compatible, fully warranted from one of the biggest names in memory.
Weakness: Price can be on the high side compared to other comparable memory.
If you're looking for reliable memory, Crucial is your best bet. They have an online memory helper that allows you to figure out exactly what memory you need, and the memory is guaranteed compatible. Some sellers of generic OEM memory can leave you high and dry--Crucial makes sure you have the right memory for the job.
Strengths: Stable, easy to install, reasonable price.
Weakness: The package box is not safe and easy to be smashed.
I put it in my VAIO. It was recognized instantly. I got an obvious improvement. Now I've been using this memory for a few weeks and never crashed. It works great for me so far.
Strengths: high quality, lifetime warranty, reputable company
Weakness: usually a little more costly
got a 1 gb stick for my wife's acer 3680 laptop. put the stick in slot a, moved the 512 stick in slot b - computer recognized immediately. running vista, dramatic performance difference with added memory. recommend highly.
Strengths: cost
I bought 2 for the HP dv2000 laptop and has no problem in installation. The startup speed increse a lot and has no problem during work. Hope they has 2GB per stick at lower price.
Strengths: Cost; performance based on cost
Weakness: None.
Definitely recommend this module based on its price and price-to-performance. I own an Athlon-based Acer laptop that came with 1GB (2x512mb) RAM and a shared-memory ATI graphics card. I replaced one of the 512 mb modules with this 1 GB and, based on the results, will be replacing the other 512 mb as well. I'm partial to Crucial and Kingston memory based on past experience and this purchase only...
Strengths: Low price, fast delivery, stable performance
Weakness: NO
I bought 2 pieces of Crucial 1GB PC2-4200 DDR2 SODIMM RAM for my brand new TOSHIBA Satellite A135-S2276 in order to replace the original 512 MB RAM. After installing the 2GB RAM system memory, the whole system performance increase significantly. I used the notebook computer continuously for over six hours a day. The system was still stable. No system hang occurred within last 3 days.
Strengths: Works as it should, best price I found was at mwave.
I bought this because my Toshiba A135S2276 ran too slow with the manufacturer's 512MB memory and Vista. This memory is very easy to install (< 5 minutes for a novice) and now my laptop is blazing fast.
Very good quality inventory
Strengths: The quality of the memory was superb.
Weakness: Crucial is not a household name in memory so will have problems when I resell.
This is my first experience with the Crucial Memory and I am impressed by the quality and the quickness of the memory. Also it is a single stick which frees up my other slot for upgrades.
